Crewe, Cheshire, U.K. - 17 June 2013 - Armadillo Ltd., one of the UK’s leading security solutions integrators, today announced that it has entered into partnership with global data security experts Boldon James in order to offer their customers world-class data classification products.

“Most organisations exchange massive amounts of data with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders every day,” says Mark Newns, CEO of Armadillo, “and while an organisation builds a perimeter defence to protect against external threats, it’s actually within organisations where most data breaches are likely to occur.”

Armadillo’s customers now have easy access to Boldon James Classifier, which delivers data classification in order to prevent their highly-sensitive information from entering the public domain.

“Building and enforcing a data classification policy for employees to safeguard the data they use as part of ‘daily business’ is vital -and now simple,” continues Newns. “Armadillo has partnered with Boldon James in order to provide deeper data security at ground level. “

“Armadillo’s experience and understanding of security solutions integration serves as the perfect interface between Boldon James and customers,” says Martin Sugden, CEO of Boldon James. “We’re delighted that they have recognised the value of classification in meeting the data security challenges being experienced by organisations”.

Emails are sent to the wrong recipients in error every day – most people have done it at some time. With luck, the breach may be no more than embarrassing, but sometimes the result is expensive too – such as the day a Citigroup staff member emailed confidential information to a friend, who then posted the facts publicly on a blog, sparking an incident that had huge repercussions for the Facebook IPO. That leak of trading information serves as an apt reminder of how easily information can escape from a company’s grasp with the aid of email. According to media reports, the leak, as well as having huge repercussions for the company and the staff involved, also resulted in a $2 million fine being imposed.[1]

“That easily-preventable human error was rather more than a ‘bad day at the office’,” says Newns, “and with such simple and inexpensive software now available it’s fast, easy and non-disruptive to actively manage your risk and make your organisation safe and secure.”

Armadillo’s customers can now protect any information which is created by anyone in the business, while highlighting the importance of data protection throughout the entire organisation.
