Amulet Hotkey takes the proven data center grade server platform of the Dell PowerEdge® M-Series Blade Servers and repurposes it as a high-performance workstation, building in custom components to provide superior desktop graphics and PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) hardware. Using the M710 blade, it has designed the first eight-head video solution for its clients in financial services, trading floors and emergency command and control centers.
This PCoIP multi-monitor architecture was pioneered by Amulet Hotkey in 2009 when it brought the first DXM600 quad-head workstation blade to market. As one of the longest standing UK-based Dell OEM Solutions Partners, it is the only PCoIP solutions provider to offer a true tier-one blade platform. The DXM710 joins a growing range of PCoIP and VMware blade solutions that include the DXM610, DXM610X and M910.
Launched today at Dell World in Austin, Texas, the DXM710 provides up to eight heads of video to one desktop while the blade workstation is monitored and managed in a secure data center.
“Amulet Hotkey has been a solutions provider in the Financial Services industry since 1990 and counts almost all the major international banks as users of one, or multiple of our integrated solutions. Many of our clients are now embracing the significant advantages of workstation blade computing with improved levels of security, centralized control and server-grade management, offering clear savings in total cost of ownership,” says Viv Summerfield, CEO and founder. “With the DXM710 we have created a unique capability, allowing high-performance users in a variety of sectors the performance, visibility and flexibility they need for business-critical applications.”
"We are pleased to continue our partnership with Amulet Hotkey and help them to bring to market their new eight head PCoIP blade solution," said Sameer Garde, VP and GM, Dell OEM Solutions, "By leveraging Dell OEM for product design, development, delivery and support, we've enabled Amulet Hotkey to accelerate their product's time to market, cut operational costs for design and development and expand their global customer base."
