OAKLAND, Calif, February 08, 2012 – Adax (
www.adax.com), an industry leader in high-performance packet-processing, security and network infrastructure, announced today that it teamed with mobile and network security provider AuthenTec to create Adax IPsec, a new and complete carrier-grade IPsec security solution.
Adax IPsec is based on AuthenTec's widely deployed QuickSec™ IPsec toolkit and integrates IPsec binary software and hardware acceleration with the Adax Packet Processing Boards. The result is a complete IPsec solution that provides robust, high-speed, security functions for security gateways and routers. Adax IPsec also provides embedded security functions in any network node, resulting in excellent security system performance and unparalleled ease of integration.
With hundreds of proven OEM implementations, AuthenTec QuickSec provides the advanced levels of protection, reliability, and performance mandated by customers and industry standards alike. The Adax IPsec binary software package is pre-integrated with the Adax boards and takes advantage of crypto-acceleration in the Cavium processors. Adax IPsec is a complete, ready-to-use, high performance and highly reliable IPsec solution.
IPsec has been defined by 3GPP as the security protocol for both control and user plane applications in LTE and is mandatory for IPv6 deployments so every node in the network will eventually need it. Adax IPsec enables robust and standards-compliant authentication, confidentiality, and data integrity for network nodes such as the LTE MME, SGW, PGW, HSS and PCRF nodes. It is also ideally suited for Security Gateways, Femto/Home eNodeB Gateways, enhanced Policy Servers and Data Offload devices.
The integration of IPsec with the Adax Packet Processing boards offers a broad range of platform support including, ATCA, Rack Mount Servers, and Blade Servers. Running Linux provides easy portability between the platforms and rapid application development using the open APIs.
“Security in IP networks has been and continues to be of great concern to end users, network service providers and therefore to network equipment and application developers. But many of those users don’t want to know about security in the network, they simply want to use it as a part of their application,” said Drew Sproul, Director, Marketing, Adax Inc. “Adax has selected a highly respected IPsec partner in AuthenTec, and our integrated solution enhances security while reducing application development costs and time to market for those applications.”
”Through our collaboration with Adax, we worked to solve many of the issues facing today’s network system and application developers,” said Martin Bergenwall, Director of Product Management, Embedded Security Solutions at AuthenTec. “We are pleased that Adax selected AuthenTec’s QuickSec for their new Adax IPsec solution, which combines high-speed network functionality in a cost-effective solution that is compliant to the latest security standards.”
