First IPAM Integration of ARIN RESTful Web Services API Automates Tasks, Saves Time, Cuts Costs
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif - Oct 4, 2011 - 6connect,
www.6connect.com, the first network automation platform to help usher in Internet Protocol v6, today announced the release of version 3.0 - with key new features built specifically for the needs of service providers (ISPs). 6connect automates the management of complex IPv6 networks, simplifies short-term IPv4 management challenges, and supports long-term IPv6 operational goals. A suite of new features in 6connect v3.0 help service providers automate their networks as they transition from IPv4 to IPv6.
6connect LogoThe Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) has exhausted the number of IPv4 addresses. Because IPv6 is not compatible with earlier protocols, it must be run concurrently with IPv4. 6connect v3 manages an IPv4 network to 100% utilization while introducing an entirely new network address schema with IPv6.
First ARIN RESTful Web Services API Integration
6connect v3 integrates to the American Registry for Internet Numbers’ (ARIN) RESTful Web Services API. This allows for full integration with Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) which eliminates many of the manual tasks of obtaining, managing and reporting IP addresses.
6connect v3.0 for ISPs
-RIR integration automates the management of the Shared Whois Project (SWIP) functions, saving network administrators potential hours per day.
-Greatly enhanced security features for Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) eliminates time-consuming and problematic management issues
A History of Assisting Service Providers Run Their Networks
