First Annual Ingres Partner Summit to be Held in Prague on April 8-9, 2008

This year’s conference will address a variety of topics including how to use Ingres products to improve productivity, the role of open source solutions as a whole in a competitive marketplace, and the latest developments and innovations around Ingres software. The summit affords an opportunity for partners from all over the world to meet and exchange ideas and experiences about open source technologies, as well expand their network of colleagues.

Steve Shine, senior vice president of world wide sales and support at Ingres will open the conference with a presentation entitled, “Why Partners Are Key” which outlines the reciprocal benefits generated by an Ingres partnership. Partners such as Infor, Wipro, Alfresco, JasperSoft, and others will also take the stage on a variety of subjects, including how they made their businesses more efficient using the Ingres database and the future of open source solutions as a way to increase revenue and compete more efficiently in a global economy.

Day two of the summit breaks into track sessions around commercial, server, and application interests. Emma McGrattan, senior vice president of engineering at Ingres, will present a session entitled “Embedding Ingres, Easy Peasy” which will outline how to do a silent, unattended install that can be configured and tuned to an application.
