Karlsbad, Germany, 12th May 2015 – This year's Across LSP Day was held on May 8 in Frankfurt, Germany. Participants from 20 countries accepted the invitation of Across Systems GmbH to attend the international conference for language service providers. With their presentations, guest speakers from the industry stimulated lively discussions. The future of translation management systems and of the translation market was one the main subjects focused on.
The Across LSP Day offered the participants first-hand Across knowledge: Insight into Across version 6.3 (to be released in fall) and tips and tricks for system settings were interesting for newcomers and experienced Across users alike. Additionally, four guest speakers contributed to the conference program with their presentations. For example, the new machine translation interface between the Across Language Server and Lucy Software as well as the optimized interface to the Plunet business and translation management system were presented. Biraj Rath of Braahmam Net Solutions talked about the challenges and opportunities of the Indian translation market; Marek Gawrysiak of TextPartner sp.j, reported on how the organization Translators without Borders uses language to save lives. The program was moderated by Stefan Gentz (Tracom OHG), whose keynote speech on the future of the translation market kicked off one of the key subjects that were discussed at the conference. The conference also featured a raffle and many opportunities for networking.
