There is a law that guides everything in the universe and whether you believe it or not, this law has been governing the universe since the very beginning. This great law is irrefutable and nothing can run away from it.
Even the Sun and Moon operate by this law. Life is not exceptional too. Life does not happen merely by chance, it’s either been initiated or never. Your presence here in this world, is not by chance; you were born according to this law and will live by it.
The first and most important law is the ‘Law of Cause and Effect.’ This law which also known as the ‘Law of Sowing and Reaping,’ simply states that whatever that you sow and plant in your garden will produce a crop.
If you sow an acorn, you will get an oak tree and if you sow nothing, you’ll get weeds. Nothing could ever get initiated without a cause, and for every cause, there is a corresponding effect.
Your current circumstances; be it good or bad, is the effect of the seed that you have chosen sometimes before. If it happens that you don’t like it, no one can be blamed except you, yourself.
By the way, sowing nothing is still sowing something cause weed grows naturally.
The good news is you can always change it by planning a new seed. But be cautious, since what you sow now is the plan that you’ve chosen to have it to be happened in the future.
A seed will grow when it is laid on a ground. But where is the ground or the garden that you want to lay your seed?
The ultimate garden that you will lay your seed is not other than your mind. Any seed that touches the ground of your mind will grow and the seed in this case is your thought. The thought that you always hold in your mind is the seed that you want it to grow. If you think of good thoughts, you will get good result and if you think of destructive thoughts, you get it too.
Whatever that happens outside the world is the reflection of the world inside you. When the bad seed that you’ve planted in your ultimate garden gets matured, you will experience the bad circumstances around you. It goes the same for good seed too. In Hinduism and Buddhism, this is known as karma.
By all means, it is very critical that you choose what you want to plan in your ultimate garden. It will determine what your future will be. The law never errs.
Be cautious that by just doing the planning is not enough; you have to nurture it and keep watching out for weeds. I’m sure that you won’t want weeds to grow in your garden. Whenever weeds grow, quickly get rid of it. If you don’t, it will take control of your garden and kill the seed that you’ve planted.
Weeds are the negativities that offered to you by your surroundings such as your friends and families, the newspaper, TV and even your own uncontrolled mind. The little voice inside your head is the biggest challenge since it will always tell you to do the opposite even if you are on the right track. So stand guard at the magical door of you mind, and block those negativities that will kill your seed.
In the beginning of the first paragraph, I have mentioned that life does not happen by chance, it’s either been initiated or never. If you believe in God, you were planned and initiated by Him; you aren’t just an accident. He wants you to be alive.
However, if you don’t, your parents had wanted you to be born and they did it according to the universe law, even if they didn’t realize it. They’ve planted you and grow you until who you are today.
If everything did not go by the law, you won’t be here and definitely you won’t be reading this. So be thankful for whatever that shows up in your life, be it God, the Universe, your parents, your friends, you enemies, your career, your pets… and the list goes on and on. There are all here according to the law.
The Samyutta Nikaya I, 227 states:
“According to the seed that’s sown, so is the fruit ye reap therefrom.
Doer of good will gather good. Doer of evil, evil reaps.
Sown is the seed, and thou shalt taste the fruit thereof.”
