THE LYNCHING OF THE HEAD
November 17, 2006, Victory Park, by Carl A. Patton
I held my head up. I could see. I also held up responsibility.
The learning places became backward. A business was born. They did,
The Church like this also. The mission went South and blind with,
The Goats. Young minds also those new to Christ were chopped into sawdust,
As egg heads harder than hickory. No one wanted to know.
However foolishness roamed and had good days. The professors lined with
The preachers and stood by. One had a cup that he passed among all,
That stood as fetch it men. The silver was doled out.
The pieces were counted and their wage was the same
So will be the wages of death that will knock,
On the big headed man's door. They had to take the head,
To get the head. While the lynched man offered first,
His mind and his head came later. This was a big head.
