In determining the award, Frost & Sullivan benchmarked the ADVD in five categories: product innovation; use of leading-edge technologies; value-added features and benefits, customer ROI and customer penetration potential. In particular, under product innovation, the company noted:
“A key aspect of the Avaya Desktop Video Device and the Avaya Flare Experience is that it provides one unified, people-centric view for all relevant communications in an easy to use and intuitive way. As a result, placing a video call is as easy as making a phone call, a moniker that the Videoconferencing industry has been targeting for years.”
The ADVD is a WIFI enabled desktop video device that has an 11.6-inch multi-touch screen with an integrated high definition video camera. The multi-modal device supports the Avaya Flare® Experience, and is an integrated solution that brings together multiple interactions into a single communications interface. This device enables users to communicate via multiple media types and provides access to desktop video, social media, audio/video/web conferencing, multiple directories, presence, instant messaging, and contextual history in an innovative and intuitive desktop device.
Avaya’s Desktop Video Device supports the entire Avaya Aura® applications portfolio, and enables a user to consolidate tools such as a desk phone, speakerphone, and video endpoint in a single easy to use device for ad hoc or scheduled multimedia collaboration. Customers have no need for multiple devices, which saves money on hardware, licenses, management, and maintenance.
