Providing Assured Cloud Services to the UK Public Sector

London - May 31st 2012 - Skyscape Cloud Services Limited, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave Assured Cloud Services Company, today announced that it has signed up to the Government’s Procurement Pledge. The Procurement Pledge is an agreed understanding between government, potential providers and their representative bodies to formalise a package of radical reforms to transform the UK public sector’s approach to procurement.

This new approach is part of a programme of reform that will continuously improve the way that the UK buys public goods and services by taking a more strategic approach, helping the market to prepare and plan for future needs, giving visibility over future demand and ensuring that the right capabilities are in place. The Procurement Pledge will also help level the playing field for UK based suppliers who previously found access UK public sector tendering opportunities challenging.

Nicky Stewart, Commercial Director of Skyscape said: “We welcome the introduction of the Procurement Pledge and are proud to be a signatory. As a UK SME, Skyscape is very encouraged by Government’s commitment to level the playing field to support smaller providers, and to back UK business. We are looking forward to an active engagement with Government to develop forward procurement pipelines, and to identify and plan for the capabilities needed to deliver them”.

Stewart added “Government has made an important commitment to potential providers. To meet this commitment Government needs potential providers to sign up to the Procurement Pledge and show that UK Industry is committed to supporting economic growth and generating greater efficiencies. The Procurement Pledge is not just for the large players, and I would strongly encourage other SMEs to sign up to the Pledge. Ultimately this will benefit Industry, the taxpayer and the citizen alike”.
