Dell’s specialist data centre distribution partnership with Magirus extends from continental Europe to UK

BRACKNELL, UK – Magirus, a leading European IT solutions provider, has announced today that it has become a specialist distributor of Dell’s data centre solutions in the UK. The deal gives Magirus’ UK business partners access to Dell’s full range of enterprise server, storage and connectivity portfolio. This builds on Magirus’ partnership with Dell in continental Europe announced in January 2011.

The Dell portfolio that Magirus will distribute from April, gives business partners a choice of the key elements of a data centre solution. These include: the advanced PowerEdge server technology suitable for virtualised data centre environments; as well as storage, backup and connectivity with the PowerVault, EqualLogic and Compellent ranges to meet the needs of SME and enterprise customers.

“This is another key step in our strategy to provide a choice of the leading data centre vendors which our business partners can offer to their customers,” said Denise Bryant, UK managing director at Magirus. “Dell’s portfolio helps companies cut operational expenditure. Its virtualisation-optimised servers can scale to support business growth while driving down capital expenditure through reduced hardware, software licensing and energy consumption,” she continued.

Dell selected Magirus because of its 6,000-strong reseller base across the UK and Europe, coupled with its data centre expertise and business support that it provides to its resellers.

“Magirus has an exceptionally strong reseller base in the UK, particularly virtualisation partners who need support migrating to virtualised data centre and cloud computing solutions. This is a real asset which, combined with our portfolio provides a compelling data centre proposition,” said Kathleen Schneider, Dell’s executive director, Channel Marketing & Programmes, Europe. She added, “Also, Magirus excels at helping resellers provide extra value with wrap around services and training.”

Both Magirus and Dell will undertake joint marketing to recruit business partners. Those interested in the Dell data centre portfolio should contact Barry Body, head of Sales for Magirus‘ Storage & Compute division in the UK on: 01344 401600; [email protected]
