Interoute recognised for its innovation and presence in wholesale market
London, 14 November 2012 – Interoute, owner operator of Europe's largest cloud services platform, has been named Best Pan-European Wholesale Provider at the 2012 Capacity Awards. Interoute received the award at the Capacity World Awards in Amsterdam on 13 November, where it was commended for the growth of its product portfolio and network expansion in a difficult market in 2012.
Interoute’s pan European network reaches from Washington in the West to Hong Kong in the East, serving the world’s leading carriers. It connects over 100 cities in 30 countries, with 60,000km of lit fibre providing unparalleled cross border connectivity.
In the last year Interoute has continued to invest in its network infrastructure, with new technologies to meet the ever increasing demand for new capacity. Interoute extended its pan-European network to the East with a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Hong Kong. It also worked with key partners in Europe to increase network diversity in the region; partnering with Bezeq International to connect Israel’s internet users to Europe via its new Submarine cable system and establishing a second fibre route into Istanbul with Turkcell Superonline.
Sustained international demand for Interoute’s network services contributed strongly to its recent positive financial results. It defied the recession with a revenue increase of 15%, in the first three quarters of 2012 over the same period in 2011.
Gareth Williams, CEO of Interoute, comments: “We’re delighted to have received this award recognising Interoute’s innovation in wholesale services. This award is testament to Interoute’s key role in connecting Europe to the world. We remain committed to providing carriers globally with competitive, innovative services and outstanding network performance.”
“This award pays tribute to Interoute’s outstanding revenues, which were achieved in a particularly difficult market climate. The judging panel was highly impressed by the company’s growing product portfolio, as well as its network expansion into Turkey, Russia and Asia during 2012. I would like to congratulate Interoute for winning the Capacity award for Best European Wholesale Carrier”, said Alex Hawkes, editor, Capacity magazine.
Interoute’s pioneering network outsourcing services provide carriers with a complete package for their customers, from lit fibre and Optical Private Networks to submarine backhaul services. Its Network in a Box solution provides carriers with virtual PoPs and access to Interoute’s International Gateway so they can expand into new geographies across Europe.
Interoute also offers wholesale voice services through its Virtual Voice Network service, data services through Managed Hosting & Co-location, IP Transit Services, bandwidth and Ethernet services.
