Hartlepool Borough Council has awarded a contract to Vodafone UK to provide it with a fully managed mobile business solution – saving it time, money and resources through greater working efficiencies.

The deal means that Vodafone will take care of all the Council’s BlackBerry® smartphones, manage its BlackBerry® Enterprise Server on secure Vodafone premises and handle all technical and end user support.

Hartlepool Borough Council chose to work with Vodafone after making a strategic decision to place its BlackBerry smartphone deployment with an organisation that could provide complete support for its entire mobile voice and mobile email needs from setting up the devices, through dedicated customer support to simple, transparent billing.

John Bulman, ICT Contract Manager for Hartlepool Borough Council, said: “By going with a fully managed service from Vodafone we are receiving the highest possible levels of service for our BlackBerry solution at the most cost effective rate. No internal support or resource is required from us, so we can concentrate on other important projects that affect our public service delivery. The professionalism of the Vodafone team project managing the roll out has been first class.”
