Derdack scoops European IT Excellence award for healthcare implementation of message master® Enterprise Alert
Customer project at HIS-IZZ Hospitals recognised in the Mobility and Communications category of IT Europa awards
Potsdam, Germany, 4 March, 2010:
Derdack (
www.derdack.com/), provider of
mobile messaging platforms and
enterprise notification software today announced that its customer implementation at
HIS-IZZ Hospitals had won a prestigious industry award from
IT Europa. The IT Excellence awards recognised Derdack in the Mobility and Communications category.
The European IT Excellence Awards are the first pan-European awards to acknowledge the crucial role that Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Solution Providers play in the delivery of real world solutions, and attracted entries from 26 countries. The winners were selected by an independent panel of consultants and editors.
Based on Derdack’s enterprise notification software – message master® Enterprise Alert - Derdack and its integration partner
M2MCOM implemented a centralised notification hub at HIS-IZZ Hospitals for communicating critical events such alarms from the fire monitoring systems to responsible staff, e.g. via SMS. Providing precise ownership assignment and details on the location of a critical event the resulting notification solution ensures the hospital can react quickly to any alerts and thus prevent interruption of critical patient services.
The project also succeeded in replacing a high-maintenance, non-automated paging system overcoming the limitations of a 16 character message. HIS-IZZ Hospitals is currently investigating other mobile applications such as nurse calls via SMS and connecting other technical systems to the notification hub.
Matthes Derdack, Managing Director of Derdack commented on receiving the accolade at an evening awards ceremony held in London said, “I am delighted that the first class implementation of message master® Enterprise Alert at HIS-IZZ Hospitals has been rewarded with this respected honour. It recognizes the growing role of mobile communication in the healthcare area. Working closely with M2MCOM we have helped the hospital automate and accelerate communication of critical alerts and warnings. It has improved business continuity and lowered the risk of unexpected business interruption.”
Alan Norman, Managing Director of IT Europa said: “The overall quality of entries was extremely high and demonstrated the depth of talent in the channel community across Europe. I congratulate all the winners and wish them and all the finalists every success in the year ahead.”
The Communications and Mobility award looks at the changing way organisations and individuals work and interact. Underpinning this communications revolution are software applications that help service providers to deliver and bill these services, organisations to mobilise their work force and individuals to access their critical applications wherever they are located.
