12 December 2012 - Global wireless broadband solutions provider, Cambium Networks, has today appointed leading IT, telecommunications and consumer electronics supplier Actebis Computer Handels GmbH as its first Austrian distributor, at a time when broadband demand is proliferating throughout the country. The new agreement enables Cambium to introduce its point-to-point (PTP) and point-to-multipoint (PMP) solutions into the Austrian market, building on its current success across the rest of Europe.

Based in Großenzersdorf, Actebis will supply Cambium’s entire portfolio, including the new PMP 450, a fixed wireless broadband access solution which is designed to meet today’s growing need for bandwidth through increased capacity and enhanced performance. The range also includes Cambium’s PTP 810i, which was launched earlier in 2012, and is ideal for use in high-power, indoor environments where long distance support and spatial diversity are required.

Commenting on the new agreement, Martin Lorenz, Cambium’s Regional Sales Manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland: “Actebis’ commitment to delivering innovative products, supported by first-class customer service, presents a huge opportunity for Cambium to firmly establish operations within the Austrian marketplace. With our wireless solutions and Actebis’ ability to deliver reliable services, we believe this partnership builds the foundation for future growth across the region.”

After merging with ALSO Holding AG, Actebis Computer Handels GmbH is Europe’s third largest IT, telecommunications and consumer electronics distributor, and serves a wide range of professional resellers: small and medium retail enterprises, systems integrators, large space provider, photo chains and online retailers.

Harald Mach, Managing Director of Operations at Actebis, adds: “It is an exciting time for the broadband market in Austria, so working with a leading global technology company like   Cambium will strengthen our portfolio. With our reach and Cambium’s wireless broadband and microwave solutions our customers will benefit from a world-class offering.”
