Benefits of the expanded operations include local project support and expert software asset management consulting
Aachen, Germany, April 3, 2012 - Aspera GmbH, a USU company and the creator of catalog-based entitlement-centric software asset management (SAM) today announces the expansion of its US based operations. Among other activities, Aspera will open a location in Boston, Massachusetts. The new location expands Aspera’s coverage and local expertise to our customers in the United States and Canada. Aspera co-founder, Christof Beaupoil will head the operations.
Beaupoil, an ITIL certified SAM specialist, who is in charge of projects, services, and consulting at Aspera, has led successful SAM projects for global organizations including Daimler, Bosch, Deutsche Bank, DHL, Texas Instruments, Jacobs Engineering, and many others. “Our customer base in North America is growing very quickly, and we would like to accommodate this growth with native resources,” says Beaupoil.
Since 2008 Aspera sells directly to the North American market. In this short period of time the company’s regional sales volume has increased 30% each year. At the same time, the business need for compliance and software asset management tools has grown drastically. One of the drivers behind the fast growth is the rise in vendor audits, which affect nearly every company in every industry. The demand for SAM is coupled with increased demand for SAM knowledge and expertise. But, there is a drought of expertise in the US. For these reasons Aspera is bolstering its US operations and investing to meet this demand head on.
“Aspera is unique because we specialize in SAM for large organizations,” says Mr. Beaupoil. “Large companies have distinct and complex organizational structures, and often decentralized processes that require special expertise when dealing with software licenses. There just aren’t enough providers that are qualified to work in these kinds of projects. And it is exactly this kind of knowledge that is in high demand right now.”
The new Aspera location will house the North American sales team and the consultant team, which will be partially spread-out locally across the Mid-West and Eastern United States. Aspera remains loyal to high quality German Engineering and will keep technical support, product development, and catalog maintenance in Germany. The time difference between Boston (GMT-5) and Aachen (GMT+1) allow for effective collaboration and communication.
The new location will be the headquarters for Aspera Technologies Inc., a sister company to USU Software AG in Germany. Read more about the founding of Aspera Technologies Inc. at
