Zigor UPS Offers Discounts To Public Sector
« Posted: June 13, 2011, 08:53:30 PM »

Zigor (UK) is attempting to ease the financial strain on the public sector by offering a special discount on its range of uninterruptible power supplies. The UPS manufacturer is concerned that organisations may consider reducing their investment in power protection products due to the tough economic times.

Gavin Banks, UK Sales Manager at Zigor (UK), however, has warned that cutting costs in this area could prove futile if a school or hospital with an ageing UPS, for example, was hit by a sudden power cut or surge. Mr Banks says a loss of power could be “devastating” to an organisation if it ended up losing critical data or records because they were not backed up sufficiently.

He also claims it may cost a school or hospital far more to repair or replace equipment damaged by an unexpected power problem than it would have done had they continued to invest. As part of its bid to help organisations feeling the squeeze, Zigor, is offering the public sector a 15 per cent discount on all of its UPS products from the start of this month.

Mr Banks said: “We understand that times are hard and some organisations may be tempted to put off spending money on UPS’s in the hope that they won't get caught out by a sudden power cut. But it really isn’t worth the risk because it could end up costing them more if they don’t have adequate power protection in place. The effects of sudden data loss can be devastating so we’re hoping our new discount offer will help the public sector protect their power properly.”
