- Yell chooses WIN plc to provide the software platform
- 118 24 7’s first ever stand-alone TV ad campaign launched to support the service
• Yell, the international directories business, has launched “118 24 7 TextBack” – a new SMS service which allows consumers to quickly text simple directory enquiry requests for classified business information. They then receive a fast text response that contains an embedded link to call the business telephone number directly.
• WIN plc is providing the software platform for the new service
• The new service launch is being supported by Yell’s first ever stand-alone TV ad campaign for its UK business directory enquiries service
• The campaign started on March 20th across major terrestrial, satellite and cable channels, and also national and local radio.
• 118 24 7 TextBack is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by the same team that handles the telephone directory service.
• Mark Canon, president of new media for Yell UK, said: “For occasions when making a phone call isn’t appropriate, 118 24 7 TextBack makes it easy to locate and call a late-night taxi, a nearby Italian restaurant, or find out cinema information and film timings. We expect it to be a very popular and useful way for consumers to contact our database of more than 2.3 million businesses.”
