World Famous Ex-hacker To Open IP EXPO
- Former hacker and security expert Kevin Mitnick joins stellar line-up at the UK’s leading enterprise IT event -
London, 6 September 2013: Kevin Mitnick, the internationally renowned former hacker and internet security expert will kick-off day one of this year’s IP EXPO on 16 October 2013 at Earls Court 2, London. IP EXPO is the fastest growing end-to-end enterprise IT event and features a number of content-rich seminars and hands-on lab sessions covering a broad range of technologies, trends and contentious issues that allow visitors to engage face-to-face with a number of leading industry experts.
Mitnick has over 30 years of experience in the internet security industry and at the time of his capture in 1995, he had the distinction of being the most wanted computer hacker in the world. Now a respected author and computer security consultant, Mitnick uses his expertise to deliver interesting, entertaining and provocative discussions worldwide. He will open the first day of IP EXPO with a dynamic Q&A session, hosted by Jessica Twentyman, where he will delve into the world of hacking through social engineering and exploiting vulnerabilities in operating systems and telecommunications devices. Mitnick will also touch on contentious issues surrounding the recent NSA / PRISM allegations.
The security focus continues with Brian Honan, Principal Consultant, BH Consulting, who will be delivering a presentation titled Securing the Business, drawing on his experience as an internationally recognised expert in the field of information security. This will be followed by A Look Inside: Building Secure and Scalable Application Infrastructure In the Enterprise which is presented by Stefan Apitz, Senior Vice President of Operations at BOX.
The afternoon session for day one begins with Amazon Web Services’ UK and Ireland Country Manager, Iain Gavin, delivering an insightful seminar titled Navigating the Cloud at AWS. Iain is set to provide attendees with real world examples of how AWS customers are transforming their businesses by building or migrating their applications to the cloud. AWS is also a sponsor of the event and will be running a series of business, technical and live demo labs during the show.
The keynote programme will be rounded out with a panel discussion on new approaches to the current trend, software defined networking. The discussion, titled Network Transformation and Software Defined Networking, will be presented by industry experts - Brad Brooks, Juniper Networks; Jason Kleeh, Brocade; Puni Rajah, Canalys; and Stefan Apitz, BOX – who will debate about the impact this emerging technology will have on the enterprise.
IP EXPO offers more than 14,000 attendees the opportunity to interact with over 250 exhibitors.
