(Berlin, 2nd March 2012) IT Europa, the leading European IT publisher and market intelligence organisation, today announced the winners of the European Software Excellence Awards 2012 - the pan-European awards event for ISV community. The finalists were honoured last night at a celebration dinner at The Grand Hyatt, Berlin.
The European Software Excellence Awards are the only pan-European awards which recognise the crucial role that Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) play in the delivery of real world solutions, and attracted entries from 18 countries. Entries were submitted by ISVs describing the solution provided and each had to be supported by an endorsement by the client. 36 companies from 14 countries made the finals. The winners were selected by an independent panel of consultants and editors.
There were 2 awards for suppliers to ISVs and the award for Application Development Platform went to Oracle and that for Application Delivery Platform was awarded to Fujitsu.
In congratulating the winners, Alan Norman, Managing Director of IT Europa said: “the overall quality of entries was extremely high and demonstrated the depth of talent in the ISV community across Europe. I congratulate all the winners and wish them and all the finalists every success in the year ahead”
The ISV categories were chosen to highlight the different areas where ISVs develop and deliver software-based solutions for their clients. These awards were for customer solutions not products and the ISV had to describe what their customer was trying to achieve, what they proposed, how they implemented it and what the results were for the customer. Each entry was backed up by a customer testimonial.
