Leading security VAD will distribute Bloxx products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
Bloxx, the innovator in Web and Email Filtering, today announced that it has finalised a distribution agreement with ectacom GmbH, a leading security Value Added Distributor (VAD) based in Hamburg, Munich and Vienna. Under the terms of the agreement, ectacom will build a roster of security resellers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) for Bloxx Web and email filtering products, and provide a range of market support activities such as technical and installation services, sales training and consultancy.
The new relationship follows the recent launch by Bloxx of dynamic real-time categorisation for German language Web content. Bloxx Tru-View Technology provides content filtering across 50 Bloxx categories with unparalleled accuracy for German language Web pages.
"We are pleased to have concluded this distribution agreement with Bloxx and look forward to building a substantial business in DACH," said Herbert Eichinger, Chief Executive Officer at ectacom. "We believe the unique technology provided by Bloxx that delivers dynamic filtering of German language Web pages is a significant differentiator in the security market, which will be appealing to resellers and deliver substantial end user benefits."
"We carried out a rigorous review of the German security distribution landscape and ectacom was the company we believe has the market reach and security experience to help us quickly build a reseller network," said Eamonn Doyle, Chief Executive Officer at Bloxx. "We believe that the combination of unique technology and aggressive pricing will be an extremely compelling proposition."
"For end users the availability of a dynamic Web page categorisation in their local language means that they now have a content filter that is not based on a manually maintained URL list that may be out of date and cannot keep up with the growth of the Web. This unique capability improves safety and security for users, increases network security and reduces risk for the organisation."
Bloxx Tru-View Technology, developed at the company's research labs in Livingston, UK, allows Web pages to be accurately classified and filtered in real-time. This patent-applied-for approach is integrated into the Bloxx Web Filter, the first commercially available Web filter that could cope with the rapid growth of the Internet and the dynamic nature of Web 2.0 content. The software has now been further developed for use in the recently launched Bloxx Email Filter. Bloxx Web and email filtering appliances, powered by Tru-View Technology, help IT companies and organisations proactively manage users' access to Web content and emails which might otherwise lower productivity, expose the organisation to risk and liability, or pose a network security threat.
