Giving money from your mobile is easier than ever
11 March 2011: Wapple has implemented the mobile strategy developed by Comic Relief by using its Canvas platform to build and publish the Red Nose Day 2011 mobile site. Users accessing
http://rednoseday.com from a mobile device are automatically redirected to the mobile site where they are delivered functionality and content that is automatically optimised for the device they are using.
As well as getting all the latest information from Red Nose Day including news and TV listings, visitors are able to donate direct from their mobile and show support for Red Nose Day by downloading wallpapers to customise their phones. They are also provided with fundraising ideas, the option to sign-up for email communications as well as a sponsor search feature that enables supporters to instantly find fundraisers and sponsor them from their mobile.
Earlier this year Wapple was approached by Comic Relief who were looking for a technical solution to power the Red Nose Day 2011 mobile site: “We know from previous campaigns that mobile is playing an increasingly important part in the way that our supporters access our content and key messaging. As such we recognised that we needed a mobile solution that would make it as easy as possible for our supporters to digest information about Red Nose Day and make key transactions in an environment optimised for mobile devices. Using Wapple’s technology we are able to achieve this,” said Marcus East, Head of Future Media and Technology at Comic Relief.
“We are delighted to be working with Comic Relief again and have great confidence that the new features of the mobile site will help to increase involvement and donations to this very important charity event,” said Anne Thomas, COO at Wapple. “The Red Nose Day site is a true demonstration of why it is important to design usable experiences on mobile and increase consumer confidence in a brand.”
Wapple’s technology which powers the Red Nose Day mobile site ensures every visitor gets an optimised web experience for their particular mobile phone whether they have Android, iPhone, Windows or any other mobile device including handheld games devices or older generation feature phones.
