Query service extends coverage to key markets – provides accurate mobile number portability information and helps companies to route SMS and voice traffic cost effectively

Munich, 16 January, 2014 – Mobile interaction specialist tyntec today announces a greater geographical expansion of its Number Lookup service with the addition of new territories including the USA, South Africa, Australia and Germany. The new areas bring the total coverage footprint up to over 814 operator networks in which number lookups, also known as MNP (mobile number portability) checks or queries can be performed.

Number Lookup has a wide range of uses for OTT (Over-The-Top) services, voice and SMS companies, content providers, mobile operators and aggregators, as well as for industry verticals such as the financial sector. tyntec’s Number Lookup service allows companies to validate real-time subscriber portability information and enables companies to intelligently route SMS or voice messages to the right networks rather than inefficiently contacting invalid numbers or ignoring the number porting information.

Number of countries with MNP continuously increases

Currently, there are more than 80 countries which allow MNP and the number is constantly increasing. The new countries being covered by tyntec’s Number Lookup include Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and USA. The expansion means full country coverage for these territories, as well as improved lookup speed.
