London/Singapore, March 23, 2010 – Mobile messaging operator TynTec (
www.tyntec.com) today announces the appointment of Cyrille Even as Vice President of Asia. The new role will see Cyrille heading up TynTec’s operations and business development in Asia from the company’s Singapore office.
Cyrille has extensive professional experience in multinational telecommunications, media and gaming companies. He was previously COO and Vice President of Mobileway (now Sybase365) where he was responsible for rolling out the company’s Asian operations. Cyrille was also Marketing Director at Alcatel where he was involved in the growth of the company’s Value Added Services offering.
The appointment comes as TynTec strengthens its presence in the region with an expanded local team and follows on from the recent announcement of full coverage on Chinese mobile networks.
The mobile messaging market has seen tremendous growth in Asia, with total projected SMS traffic expected to grow to over 2.1 trillion messages in 2010. This represents a year-on-year growth of over 12%, according to Gartner. Revenues from SMS usage in the region are expected to increase to US$15.1 billion, according to Portio Research.
Cyrille Even, VP, Asia, TynTec, said: “Asia is a hugely diverse set of marketplaces, however they’re linked by a common demand for SMS services. TynTec can offer a unique level of quality and security in their mobile messaging services and that’s something that Asian markets are crying out for. SMS in Asia is continuing to grow at a massive pace and TynTec is an integral part of that expansion.”
Michael Kowalzik, CEO of TynTec, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Cyrille to the team as we consolidate and expand our position in the Asian marketplace. South East Asia is a fast-growing and important market for TynTec and, under Cyrille’s direction, we’re going to continue our growth story in Asian markets.”
