7 May 2013 – Cambium Networks, leading provider of wireless broadband solutions, is attending Next Gen’s Digital Scotland 2013 event later this month to address broadband connectivity across Scotland. Hosted by the Scottish Government the event is set to explore a vision for Scotland to be a world class digital nation by 2020.

The conference and exhibition brings together the Scottish Government, civic and local authorities, community leaders and key business enterprises to discuss smart cities, rural challenges, applications of the future, digital services and mobile technologies. Deputy First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, will deliver the opening keynote speech of the event.

Ian Bayly, Vice President EMEA Sales and Marketing at Cambium Networks, said: “As Scotland looks to the future of its digital infrastructure and how best to better connectivity for its residents and businesses alike, we’re looking to showcase the capabilities of our fixed wireless broadband solutions as a way to revolutionise Internet access and bring Scotland up to speed.”

Graham Bolton, Regional Sales Director, UK and Ireland at Cambium Networks, will deliver a presentation that looks at ‘Rural Economic Revitalisation. A Road Map for Better Countryside Connectivity’. The session, which takes place at 14:00, will explore the opportunities for fixed wireless broadband infrastructures.

Digital Scotland 2013 will take place at the Heriot-Watt University’s Edinburgh Conference Centre. The one day event on 22 May will include a series of presentations and workshops, alongside an exhibition area demonstrating activities and solutions from across Scotland.

Cambium was recently involved in a project for Dundee City Council, as the Council looked to update its outdoor wireless broadband network. Cambium partner, Rapier Systems Limited, deployed the Cambium Canopy PMP (Point-to-Multipoint) 450 fixed wireless broadband access solution, specifically designed to deliver the capacity and performance service providers and private network operators require to meet today’s demanding and growing need for bandwidth.
