London, UK: 31st March, 2011: Tribold today announced it is opening a Research & Development Centre, in Cwmbran, South Wales, with plans to create over 45 new jobs in the software development / engineering sector, professional services and business support functions.
The Tribold R&D Centre will be used for core software production development, software testing, released product support and as a location for software implementation services (both on-site and remote).
Simon Muderack, Tribold CEO & Founder said: “The new Tribold R&D Centre is a significant milestone in the growth of the company. The R&D Centre will ensure that, going forward, Tribold will be able to scale the business with a great degree of direct control whilst maintaining our existing global customer base.”
When selecting the location several options across the globe were considered. Key factors assessed included availability of staff with required skill levels and qualifications, logistical impacts, property costs and how seamlessly the business could be integrated into the Tribold Group as a whole.
Dr Calum Nobles, Tribold Vice President Engineering added: “Tribold is hugely excited about being able to tap into the outstanding resource pool in Wales. This is a major investment for Tribold, but one I am confident will deliver substantial returns and great products.”
The news has also been welcomed by Ieuan Wyn Jones, Minister for the Economy and Transport, who said he was delighted that another prominent ICT company has chosen to expand operations into Wales.
“We have a strong and dynamic ICT sector in Wales - a diverse industry that is recognized in our Economic Renewal strategy as an area with high growth potential. The sector also benefits from academic expertise in our universities.
“This investment will create high skilled jobs in one of our key sectors and supports our objectives to increase R&D activity in Wales to drive forward innovation. It’s also good to hear that Tribold selected Wales over other global locations as inward investment remains a key priority to grow our economy.”
The Welsh Assembly Government provided business finance support through the Welsh Assembly Government's Economic Renewal programme to allow the Tribold Group to establish a new company in Wales to operate as its R&D Centre.
