Ongoing mentoring from Orange forms part of prestigious award

Toulouse, 22 April 2013 – Orange has awarded a €20,000 prize in its High Speed Network Content competition to mobile software development pioneer, Phonitive, for its unique mobile interactive touchscreen technology, Touchalize™.

Designed to recognise the best French start-ups and SMEs that have harnessed and made best use of the power of mobile broadband/4G and fibre in their solutions, the Orange competition saw a field of 90 entrants from which three winners were selected.

In addition to the €20,000, the prize also includes visibility and promotion on various sites and Orange portals, as well as ongoing mentoring and support by Orange, as part of its 4G/fibre project. This is intended to enrich the services offered to Orange customers through the onward development and commercial emergence of Touchalize.

“We are delighted to have been selected by Orange for this prestigious award and look forward to their valued support and guidance as we continue to develop our exciting, interactive mobile solution, Touchalize. Orange’s work to deliver the power of 4G and fibre is very important, as fast connection and good bandwidth will ensure the very best Touchalize experience,” said Guillaume Lemoine, CEO at Phonitive.

“Touchalize is a technology designed for smartphone and tablet users that makes any video interactive and tactile,” Lemoine continued. “People can actually touch objects in a video, in real time, and modify them to change their colours, or introduce their own content or images into the video. They can also find out information about products on screen and engage in purchasing options - all through the power of touch!

By touching a dress on a catwalk in a fashion video, for example, the user can change its colour and continue with different touch commands in order to purchase the dress online. This breakthrough represents a real return on investment for agencies and brands with respect to the costs of creating advertising videos in the first place.

“The Touchalize experience is being marketed, commercially, based on the number of people who will watch a video clip and interact with it. Agencies and brands will have an unprecedented opportunity, never before available to them, to market and sell through this brand new and exciting sales channel/medium. We expect products to fly off the shelves as mass market users begin to experience the power and fun of using Touchalize,” Lemoine concluded.
