Hexaware Technologies, a leading global provider of IT and consulting services, today announced the implementation of a mobile application testing solution in association with HP (Hewlett Packard). The company has delivered an innovative mobile application test automation framework to Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, the Mexican subsidiary of Heineken, the third largest brewer in the world.
Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma depends crucially on mobile based order processing systems for its operations. These applications are regularly quality assured using a solution based on HP Business Process Testing and Jamo Solutions M-eux Test for mobile application testing.
The company saw an opportunity to improve the efficiency of mobile application testing. As Alberto Moreno, Senior Manager, IT Applications Solution, Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma explains: “Testing applications on mobile devices is critical to maintain the ongoing business activities. However, the amount of testing cycles required to perform manual tests on mobile devices is costly, and limits the IT department’s time to keep up with the business demands.”
Working with HP, Hexaware Technologies developed a new testing framework that automated the testing of the mobile device applications and enabled integration into an enterprise-wide framework for Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma.
Anand Moorthy, Head of Hexaware’s Quality Assurance and Testing Practice (QATS) says “We see organisations such as Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma achieving significant benefits from this framework such as reduction of testing costs by half, reducing test cycle time by 50 to 70% and simplifying maintenance”.
Roi Carmel, HP Software Director of Product and Applications added: “Partnering with Hexaware is an advantage in the mobile space. It’s a company that can guide a customer in the best approach to using mobile technology because they’ve used it themselves. They also accelerated our time-to-market.”
Moorthy concludes “The true benefit of this framework is leveraging the same automated test suite across multiple OSs. Hence, we have invested in a dedicated research and development team who have ported this framework built on the HP Platform on other mobile OSs such as BlackBerry, Android and Apple (iOS)”.
Following the success of this project, Hexaware and HP are planning further collaboration on mobile application testing solutions for their joint clients worldwide.
