TM Forum Teams Up With Cable Europe To Host Session On Addressable Advertising At The 2008 Cable Congress
Morristown, NJ – April 10, 2008 – TM Forum, the world’s leading trade association focused on management of information, communications, and entertainment services, is teaming up with Cable Congress 2008 April 23rd-25th for an in-depth session on Interactive and Addressable Advertising. The TM Forum will also launch its’ new Cable Vendor Interest Group with an inaugural meeting at the event.
The special conference session on Addressable and Interactive Advertising will be held, April 25, 12:00-15:00 at Cable Congress (formally ECCA Congress), one of the key European events for cable industry. The first part of which will focus on Digital TV and its potential to change to traditional advertising models by offering more intelligent and targeted ways of reaching audiences and generating new sources of revenue.
The second part of this session is a round-table style technology discussion on the readiness of operators to take on new advertising models and capabilities. TM Forum will uncover its plan to create working teams, and will invite MSOs and vendors to join an advisory council that will define the requirements around data modeling and service delivery. TM Forum will launch a call for an industry wide work plan with other cable associations such as EuroCableLabs.
In addition to advertising initiatives, TM Forum is also using the Cable Congress show as a launching point for a new interest group specifically for the vendors that work in the cable space. This meeting will take place April 24rd at 1730 and will serve as a “sister group” to the TM Forum Cable Interest Group (CIG) formed last year as a committee of global MSOs.
“With most MSOs now offering full communications services, the relevance of TM Forum's work, such as the business process framework (eTOM), is increasingly being seen as central to their systems architectures”, said Martin Creaner President of TM Forum. “As new services drive new requirements, industry consensus is needed for system interfaces, processes and data models. This is the initial meeting for European and US cable vendors to assist in the standardization, capturing, distribution, and management of data for use in innovative cable services.”
