Beijing/Cambridge, UK, 5th November 2013 – The TM Forum has recognised the work of an
AsiaInfo-Linkage project team looking at a key element of the Forum’s Frameworx programme. The
AsiaInfo team was part of a Catalyst project entitled The ABCs of Multi-Party Digital Services,
championed by Orange, which was presented with the Catalyst Team Award for “The Most Significant
Contribution to the Adoption of the Frameworx Standards” at the Forum’s Digital Disruption 2013
event in San Jose.
The TM Forum’s Frameworx programme is aimed at establishing common approaches and standards, with
a particular emphasis on enabling the digital services ecosystem. The team including AsiaInfo were
looking at creating a standard approach for managing the creation, provisioning, ordering, billing
and support of new digital services involving multiple parties. Other companies represented in the
Catalyst project were Huawei and Infonova, with the direction set by Orange France and supported by
China Mobile.
The AsiaInfo team successfully demonstrated the use of an Open Operational Platform that enables
operators and third party service providers to collaborate in the creation of new ‘mash-up’
digital services which can be ordered via multiple channels. The Platform also acts as a hub for the
service providers involved to exchange information via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
The Catalyst demonstration in San Jose showcased the critical APIs and processes required to support
B2B, B2C and B2B2C digital services delivered and managed through multiple partners. Within the
scenarios demonstrated the project team made use of brand new APIs that are part of TM Forum’s new
Open Digital Ecosystem.
Xin (Tristan) Zhang, Product Marketing Director of AsiaInfo-Linkage said: “Five parties got
together to deliver three scenarios that really demonstrated multi-party services. What’s more, we
accomplished the demos in a five week period. The journey to a new multi-party digital service world
starts right here.”
