Information Builders, a leader in business intelligence (BI) and analytics, information integrity, and integration solutions, today announced that Gartner, Inc. has named the company a Visionary in the research firm's Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools[1]. This marks the third consecutive year Gartner positioned Information Builders as a Visionary for its iWay Data Quality Suite solution based on the evaluation of the company's completeness of vision and ability to execute.
Regarding completeness of vision, "Gartner analysts evaluate technology vendors on their ability to convincingly articulate logical statements about the market's current and future direction, innovation, customer needs, and competitive forces, as well as how they map to Gartner's position. Ultimately, technology vendors are assessed on their understanding of the ways in which market forces can be exploited to create opportunities.
According to the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Quality report, "when evaluating offerings in this market, organisations must consider not only the breadth of functional capabilities they require (for example, data profiling, parsing, standardisation, matching, monitoring, and enrichment), but also the degree to which this functionality can be readily understood, managed and exploited by staff in business roles, not just IT staff."
Information Builders' iWay Data Quality Suite provides a unified framework for organisations to profile, cleanse, and enrich enterprise information. The solution enables companies to analyse data from multiple sources and formats, assess its quality, and immediately correct any integrity issues so that they can realise the full potential of their information assets.
The iWay Data Quality Suite includes, among other features, a real-time data quality firewall, data governance capabilities for comprehensive remediation of data quality issues, and the ability to enrich information with content obtained from external and third-party sources.
Enterprises today are confronted with integration challenges, which require a strategy that goes beyond simply unifying diverse information assets. Disparate applications, databases, systems, messages, and documents need to be seamlessly brought together - and the information and content within them must be accurate, consistent, and complete. Data quality issues are among the foremost roadblocks to implementing BI more broadly in the enterprise.
"In order to make BI pervasive in an organisation, information access must be granted to all users, to every employee group, and even to external partners and third parties," said Gregory Dorman, senior vice president and general manager of the iWay Software Suite. "Dispersing this data to allow real-time, fact-based decision-making by all users requires that an information management platform rely on data quality as a foundation. Information Builders is among the industry leaders in data quality solutions. We're proud to be recognised by Gartner, Inc. as a Visionary."
