Full list of sponsor presentations now available - based around theme of ‘testing tomorrow’s applications’

London, UK – 20 September 2011 - TestExpo, the UK’s pre-eminent software testing event has unveiled the full list of sponsors and sponsor presentations for next week’s conference, taking place on Thursday 22 September at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London.

Hewlett Packard is confirmed as the premium sponsor of the event. Professional Tester is acting as media sponsor, and the event also has support from Microsoft and some of the world’s most respected software testing specialists, including iTrinegy, GreenHat, Coverity, Seapine Software, Original Software and Epicentre.

Established in 1996, TestExpo is a free conference and exhibition for software testers and quality assurance (QA) professionals. Held twice a year in London, it attracts testing professionals and industry experts from all over Europe, who come to see the latest innovations in testing, and share knowledge and experience with their peers.

In additional to an expansive exhibition, delegates can attend a number of interesting and educational presentations. Run by sponsors, these provide invaluable information and practical advice about the testing industry, and are based around the central theme of the show: A world of difference: testing tomorrow’s applications.

Confirmed presentations include:

Premium sponsor Hewlett Packard: Testing the Applications of Today, Tomorrow and The Day After
Hewlett Packard’s Gary Voller, Strategy and Technology for Apps, and Rob Stock, Application Quality Management Pre-Sales Consultant will discuss how mobile, cloud and composite applications are fundamentally shifting the expectations and role of IT in the enterprise, and how HP is helping organisations meet these challenges.

iTrinegy: Why Ensuring an Application is Network-Ready is Imperative to the Modern Tester
Using real world examples, Frank Puranik, Senior Technical Specialist, iTrinegy will dispel the myth that testing in networks is difficult and expensive, and demonstrate how to deliver effective network-related software performance testing services without using the live production network or being a network expert.

GreenHat: Cloud Testing – No need for Blue Sky Thinking
Glyn Rhodes, Head of Testing Methodology for Green Hat offers practical advice on how to approach Cloud Testing, using a combination of the right approach and virtualized applications that simulate systems unavailable for testing.

Seapine Software: Requirements and Agile: Keeping Up With Change
Seapine Software Consultant Gordon Alexander explains how a combination of small-scale formal requirements and user stories can help Agile teams improve quality levels and better measure project success, without significantly increasing overhead.

Microsoft: How can test tools help with the challenges of tomorrow’s world?
Danny Crane, Technical Director at nFocus examines the business, technology and security challenges involved in testing emerging technologies, and how available tools can help solve them.

Coverity:  A New Dimension in Software Quality
At CERN (the European Organisation for Nuclear Research), over 600 million particle collisions take place every second generating 15 petabytes of data per year and requiring millions of lines of code.  Alan Perkins, EMEA Technical Director at Coverity and Lorenzo Moneta, Senior Physicist at CERN discuss how CERN ensured the accuracy of its Large Hadron Collider Software, working with Coverity

Original Software: Is there a better way to test manually?
Original Software’s CEO George Wilson, and Senior Solutions Consultant
Jonathan Pearson will give attendees some ideas about how to ensure manual testing is efficient and productive, and offer tips to help both IT and business users easily perform both scripted and exploratory test.

Epicentre: Hypothesis Based Testing (HBT) – a unique approach to improve defect detection
T Ashok, CEO of STAG Software will introduce TestExpo attendees to Hypothesis Based Testing (HBT) – a scientific and personal test methodology based around the identification of software ‘cleanliness’ criteria and the potential defect types that can impede these criteria.

Key sponsors will  also join a panel of industry experts, including Sogeti SMEs, for the Innovation Panel. This lively and inclusive event gives attendees the chance to ask questions to industry experts on a variety of testing topics. Attendees can submit questions either online or by emailing event organiser Harreet Khara at [email protected].

Khara said: “TestExpo is one of the most successful testing and QA industry conferences in the world, but it wouldn’t be possible without our sponsors. With their assistance, we’ve put together a programme of interesting and educational presentations, and an exhibition that no testing professional should miss.  Thanks to our sponsors, particularly our premium sponsor Hewlett Packard, we’re confident that this will be the best TestExpo conference yet.”

Also exhibiting at this week’s event: SQS, Tricentis, BCS – The Chartered Institute of IT, and StressTester.

TestExpo – A world of difference: testing tomorrow’s applications will take place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in downtown London on 22 September. Registration for the event is free. To register, visit the TestExpo website http://bit.ly/hmgFwy.
