Ten miles through ten tors on the tenth of October!

October 15, 2015: WiFi SPARK kick starts fundraising for Children’s Hospice South West by smashing this events £1,000 target.

This weekend saw the culmination of WiFi SPARK's latest fundraiser to raise money for CHSW with a ten mile hike across ten tors of Dartmoor. Unperturbed by the cold and foggy conditions, twelve members of staff set off across the hills led by seasoned mountain leader, Ian Lynch the Chief Operating Officer.

The route
Starting from Haytor which is 457 metres above sea level, the group trekked to Smallacombe Rocks, Black Hill, Greator Rocks, Houndtor, Bell Tor, Bonehill Rocks, Top Tor, Pil Tor, Saddle Tor and finally back to Haytor Rocks. The route has been described as moderate to strenuous, feeling hard at times with 3 very steep hills.

As it turned out the walk was great fun and helped along with the prospect of a hot meal in the pub at the end, the team completed the walk in just under four hours (including quite a few stops).

Matt O'Donovan, WiFi SPARK's founder said "We are pleased to have raised over £1,300 for this great cause and have other activities planned to add to that sum".

The WiFi SPARK team continues its fundraising for the coming months and hopes to add to the donations significantly.
