Telecom Express announces that as part of its ongoing partnership with the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) it continues in its management of the DEC’s vital East Africa appeal.
Following their successful partnership with Comic Relief for managing automated donations for Red Nose Day 2011, Telecom Express has provided the DEC’s automated donation service through out its East Africa appeal. Processing card payments to PCI DSS level 1, donors are assured of a rapid and highly secure method of making their donations.
Established in 1963, the DEC unites the UK’s leading aid agencies, such as Oxfam, the British Red Cross and Save the Children, in providing timely and efficient humanitarian aid to areas of the globe stricken by major disasters.
The current drought in East Africa, which is estimated to be the worst in 60 years, has caused a famine in Somalia, affecting up to 10 million people. Working tirelessly to provide aid, the DEC East Africa has now raised over £72 million in donations to help combat some of the most deprived areas.
Polly Gilchrist of the DEC Appeal commented: “We’re delighted to have Telecom Express as a partner - their expertise in managing our donation service is significant.”
Rob Ellis, Managing Director of TE Media – “We are privileged to work with the DEC, one of our key clients in the charity sector, whose work in providing humanitarian aid is so very important in situations such as East Africa.”
