Judges praise product design of mobile network benchmarking backpack system
Solothurn, Switzerland, 18 June 2012
SwissQual’s unique Diversity Ranger portable network benchmarking system has been judged a winner in the prestigious 2012 Red Dot Design Awards.
Launched in 2011, Diversity Ranger was hailed by the press as "the backpack of the future”, and the portable mobile network benchmarking and optimization system has seen rapid uptake since then, with several sold-out production runs.
The 2012 Red Dot award for product design gives a confirmation of the thoughtful quality of the engineering design of the Diversity Ranger backpack-based mobile network benchmarking system, with the Red Dot judges praising Ranger’s “sturdy construction, which provides reliable protection for the delicate technology it encases.”
The Diversity Ranger system, which can be seen in action at
www.swissqual.com, is now deployed for portable mobile network benchmarking purposes with numerous customers in North and South America, the Middle East, and Western Europe. This installed base represents a wide range of network topographies and demonstrates a broad need for portable, high reliability, high precision benchmarking systems. Feedback from customers has been incredibly strong, and Ranger is outperforming it's specification in the field.
"The speed at which customers around the world have invested in SwissQual’s Diversity Ranger has been a very pleasing result, and demonstrates that Ranger is solving real mobile network benchmarking problems for numerous operators," said John May, SwissQual CEO. “What's impressive about Ranger – and probably the thing that so impressed the Red Dot judges – is that it has been custom-designed for this precise purpose, with no compromises on quality, performance or reliability.”
“Half-baked mobile network benchmarking solutions just don't work reliably or accurately in the field, and that is why our engineers approached this from the ground up, with a completely clean sheet of paper. That means we have been able to solve dozens of major issues that appear when trying to squeeze regular mobile network benchmarking or drive-testing equipment into an off-the-shelf piece of luggage – things like weight, cooling, power, device access and carrying ergonomics. I’m delighted that SwissQual’s commitment to quality has been recognized by the Red Dot jury,” continued May.
SwissQual will be represented during the forthcoming CommunicAsia trade show in Singapore, 19-22 June 2012. For more details, please visit
