After the successful integration of POLQA in 2011, SwissQual has completed another milestone with significant consequences for network operators and service providers: the success of VoLTE by ensuring excellent end-to-end voice quality service.

SwissQual, a Rohde & Schwarz company, is the sole supplier of wireless network benchmarking and optimization products that can deliver additional insight to speech evaluation by defining the most likely reason for voice degradation: its product families Diversity and QualiPoc make end-user perceived quality the start of end-to-end service optimization.

For voice quality, most operators rely on a Mean Opinion Score (MOS) to indicate whether their voice quality is sufficient. The algorithm behind the MOS score is POLQA (Perceptual Objective Listening Quality Assessment), which is the most sophisticated voice quality estimator on the market and is especially designed for packet-switched transmission. POLQA became an approved standard by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), referenced as ITU-T Rec. P.863, and Swissqual is one of the inventors behind the standard.
