Telephonetics VIP, a leading speech recognition and voice automation specialist, is holding a complimentary event for UK police forces to discuss and demonstrate how they can use speech technology to help achieve National Call Handling Standards.

The UK police service receives approximately 80 million calls* for assistance from the public annually. The effective handling of these calls is critical to resolving incidents and managing the relationship between the police and the public.

The event, to be held on the 14th May 2008 at The Moat House, Acton Trussell, Staffordshire (www.moathouse.co.uk), will feature a number of presentations from police forces including South Yorkshire Police, Lothian and Borders Police, and Hertfordshire Constabulary. The forces will discuss how they are using speech solutions to provide a timely and good quality call handling service for both 999 and non-emergency calls.

Anyone interested in attending can register online at www.telephoneticsvip.co.uk/events or call +44(0) 1442 242 242 and ask for Matt James.
