Value Logistics Implements Axios Systems’ ITSM Tool to Improve its IT Service Provision
United Kingdom, June 30, 2010 – Axios Systems, the world’s largest independent provider of IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions, today announces the successful implementation of its enterprise class assyst ITSM software into Value Logistics Limited, situated in South Africa, with the help of its partner, NSS.
Value Logistics is one of South Africa’s largest logistics companies and a leading supplier of supply chain solutions. It has a national branch network located across the country and in Windhoek, Namibia and Gaborone in Botswana, where it operates a fleet of over 4000 vehicles with more than 5500 employees.
Value Logistics previously used home grown tools with no structured ITSM strategy so required a higher level of understanding of the IT environment in order to improve its service to the business and support it more efficiently.
Availability of critical business systems is a key focus for Value Logistics and essential for a company within the logistics industry, where systems downtime can be potentially disastrous, both financially and in terms of customer satisfaction and retention. With so many customers relying on a service that delivers on time, every time – key systems downtime is, simply, not an option.
In order to achieve its goals, Value Logistics, required a consolidated ITSM solution that could focus on its key processes. In order to do this, Value Logistics implemented assyst through Axios Systems’ South African partner, NSS.
As part of the fully ITIL-aligned software, assyst, Value Logistics will be using Axios’ self-service software, assystNET. Initially they will use the self-service portal so that end-users in their depots around the country can log and track their own incidents instead of calling the Service Desk, which will reduce the number of calls significantly.
Deirdre Ackermann, CIO at Value Logistics says, “We chose Axios’ assyst solution due to the organizations partnership with NSS and therefore its strong ITSM presence within the South African Market. We are confident that assyst will help us achieve our key requirements. Also, in the future, we expect assyst to bring benefits in non-IT areas, such as HR, facilities and logistics.”
Ailsa Symeonides, Sales & Marketing Director at Axios Systems says, “The Value Logistics implementation is testament to our reach across all industry sectors and global markets. Working with NSS, we have successfully implemented assyst into several South African companies, who are all realizing the benefits of this robust solution.”
Janice Alford, Head, Service Management Unit at NSS says, “We are pleased to add Value Logistics to the portfolio of customers where we have implemented assyst by Axios Systems. Our partnership with Axios has proven to be very successful with other implementations including Standard Bank South Africa, Sasol and City of Tshwane. Axios provided us with expert consultants whose knowledge and skill made the project very straightforward and we are confident our partnership will continue to be successful.”
