Social Media in a Corporate Context comes to Manchester
« Posted: September 08, 2010, 08:02:40 PM »

The Social Media Newsroom X Factor, the Hypotheticals Debate (Jerry Springer meets the Moral Maze!) and the Social Media Surgery are all coming to Manchester.

The annual Social Media in a Corporate Context conference has already established itself as the definitive annual conference for those keen on exploring social media and web 2.0 tools to reach their stakeholder audiences. Now it comes to Manchester.

The one-day event organized by Communicate magazine is for all corporate communications professionals who need to understand how social media can be used to forge a dialogue with internal and external stakeholders. Organisations who are at the cutting edge of digital communications will share new and exciting ways of engaging with stakeholders.

The programme includes social media experts and communications practitioners from organisations including First Direct, Manchester Airport Group, Boots, DHL, NHS Salford, VisitBritain, plus many, many more. With sessions on PR and media relations, internal comms, public affairs, crisis management, IR, this conference is relevant to everyone involved in every aspect of corporate communications.

The programme is available to view here.

The event will be held at The Palace Hotel, Manchester on 19 October 2010.

For a taster of what to expect, here are some of the tweets produced on the day of this year’s London conference, and also a small film detailing the day. Birmingham City University students also spent the day at the conference, filming, taking photos and blogging. Here is their record of the day, session by session
