Skyscape’s Chairman will also join the team’s volunteer support crew
London – April 15th 2014 – Skyscape Cloud Services Limited, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave Assured Cloud Services Company today announced that it is supporting the London Pride Spinhalers – four members of Antonia’s Riders Corsham (ARC) cycling club – as they race 3,000 miles across America in support of Asthma UK. The Race Across America (RAAM) is recognised as the toughest endurance cycling race in the world as it is one third further than the Tour de France.
ARC was set up in memory of Antonia Thomas, who tragically lost her life when she suffered a sudden asthma attack in 2009, aged just 10 years old. Antonia’s father and Skyscape Chairman, Jeff Thomas, will drive one of the support vehicles. He said: “It’s hard enough just driving across America – what these guys are doing is inspiring and will help asthma sufferers nationwide.”
The London Spinhalers – led by Bath and England rugby player, John Hall – are the only UK four person team entered in the race. Hall and his fellow cyclists, Martin Grant, Sir James Fuller and David Shepherd, will set out on 14th June 2014 from Oceanside, California and expect to arrive on the East Coast just seven days later.
Hall commented: “This is one of the ultimate challenges in world cycling and we are proud to be the only UK four-man team taking it on, and for a cause that has touched us all deeply.”
In addition to receiving sponsorship from Skyscape, the team has also secured the support of Ark Data Centres, Widcombe House Investments, Vectura Group plc and Fuller’s – the brewers of London Pride.
