Extends use of VMware technologies allowing transfer of workloads between connected cloud

London – 22nd August 2013 – Skyscape Cloud Services Limited, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave assured cloud services company today announced that it is leveraging VMware vCloud® Connector™ to enable customers to securely connect their existing virtualised environments to Skyscape’s Assured Cloud Platform for the UK Public Sector. This new capability will enable organisations to securely connect their VMware platforms to Skyscape’s Pan Government Accredited (PGA) cloud, with the option to scale up or down their available computing capacity, according to their changing business requirements.

With vCloud Connector, VMware’s customers will be able to extend their on-premise networks into Skyscape’s Cloud, ensuring that extra capacity is readily available as and when required.  For instance, if an application begins to run slowly due to increased activity, Skyscape’s platform will accommodate this burst of activity.

VMware vCloud Connector enables customers to make the most of hybrid cloud computing environments, allowing organisations to quickly and reliably transfer workloads between their connected clouds.  During this process, customers can maintain full control over the movement of applications through an easy to use, single pane of glass interface.  This new capability will provide VMware vCloud Connector customers with a central management portal, integrated within the customer’s vCenter management consoles, through which they will be able to control their in-house virtualised environment as well as those running in the Skyscape Cloud.
