Relocates and expands Headquarters into QinetiQ, Farnborough
London – February 8th 2012 – Skyscape Cloud Services Limited, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave Assured Cloud Services Company, today announced that it had concluded agreements with QinetiQ, a leading international defence and security company, to develop a secure cloud based service capability for the UK public sector.
As a result of this unique collaboration Skyscape’s Cloud Services will be immediately enhanced through the integration of QinetiQ’s market leading Protective Monitoring Service – a service already widely used by many of the UK Government’s applications.
Phil Dawson, CEO, Skyscape said “In our UK public sector Cloud Prediction 2012 survey we found that over 53% of the public sector perceived security risks as the greatest inhibitor to cloud adoption. By incorporating QinetiQ’s Protective Monitoring Service into our Infrastructure and Software as a Service Cloud offering, we go a significant way towards alleviating this concern.”
The provision of an effective framework of Protective Monitoring of Governmental information and technology systems is an essential element in the treatment of information security risks. With it arises inevitable investment that needs to be made in respect of the supporting infrastructure and technology, but most importantly the correct resourcing of the deployed solution in terms of manpower, expertise, information assurance and defined levels of service such that there can be confidence in a return on investment and the effectiveness of the solution.
Alasdair Rodgers, Managing Director of Security, QinetiQ said “QinetiQ’s Protective Monitoring Service is a set of business processes, with essential support technology and highly skilled personnel, that oversee how ICT systems are used and provides a means of treating risks to information and technology systems. Combining this with Skyscape’s Cloud Services provides a unique and differentiated capability to the UK public sector when using cloud computing.”
As part of their Cloud Alliance Agreement, Skyscape and QinetiQ are also collaborating towards the future provision of secure cloud based services.
The closeness of this collaboration is further enhanced as Skyscape will relocate its headquarters to QinetiQ’s Farnborough site, creating 30 additional vacancies as the Company expands its technical, product and service capabilities.
