Siemens Healthcare PACS Certifies BridgeHead Software

BridgeHead MediStore™ proven to offer a comprehensive medical imaging archive with full disaster recovery capabilities for Siemens SYNGO users

ASHTEAD, UK AND WOBURN, MA – June 02, 2011 – BridgeHead Software, a leader in healthcare data and storage management, today announced the successful certification of BridgeHead MediStore™ by Siemens Healthcare in conjunction with its picture archiving and communication system (PACS) solutions. BridgeHead Software’s BH MediStore® solution successfully underwent a series of rigorous tests with Siemens SYNGO Connectivity Competence Center (CCC), to assess its compatibility with several Siemens imaging IT applications – syngo.plaza and syngo Imaging for Radiology. Following successful completion of the tests, BridgeHead Software has proven its ability to provide a comprehensive medical imaging archive and full disaster recovery solution for Siemens SYNGO users.

“Siemens takes pride in the thorough testing of third-party applications, such as that of BridgeHead Software, that interact with our PACS,” said Rik Primo, director of marketing and strategic relationships for SYNGO Americas at Siemens Healthcare. “We deliberately put software vendors through their paces to ensure our users are receiving best-of-breed solutions, without the need for onsite connectivity customization. So it’s quite an achievement to gain our certification and we welcome BridgeHead Software into our partner community.”

“Too often, the PACS environment is managed as a data silo separate from a hospital’s IT,” said Charles Mallio Jr., Vice-president of Product Strategy at BridgeHead Software. “In certifying BH MediStore, BridgeHead Software is extending its proven healthcare business continuity, disaster recovery and archiving offerings to the Siemens PACS environment, while also providing data interoperability with the hospital’s overall data stores.”

BridgeHead Medistore™ provides a fully searchable archive for clinical and administrative information. From DICOM images through to digitized patient documents, BH MediStore® helps hospitals overcome challenges around the accessibility and interoperability of their healthcare data, making it easier for future migrations, while reducing the TCO of their existing storage infrastructure.
