Sport, leisure and entertainment group adopts new ITSM solution
Chessington, 25 May 2010 – One of the largest sport, leisure and entertainment companies in Europe, Sheffield International Venues (SIV) has purchased Sostenuto by IT and business service management software provider
Sunrise Software.
The company, which has grown rapidly over the past 10 years to include a portfolio of venues with an estimated value in excess of £250m, has established an international reputation for managing complex sporting and entertainment environments, such as the Sheffield Arena and ICE Sheffield.
SIV is planning to implement Sostenuto in order to enhance its customer service and in particular strengthen its position as an outsourced service provider to venues such as the Crucible Theatre. It will do so by formalising its IT service processes along the lines of the ITIL framework.
ICT Manager Michael Cook said: “Our priority was very much to find a solution that met all of our needs at an affordable price. We felt that Sostenuto matched any of the systems from the big players, but without the hefty price tag. Our IT director was immediately impressed by what she saw and selecting Sostenuto was an easy decision for the board to take.”
The team is planning to implement Sostenuto’s ITSM functionality initially, with a view to expanding the software into further areas in future.
“Sostenuto’s application builder capabilities caught our attention,” continued Cook. “We are really excited by the new opportunities this will open up for us in future. We feel we have bought into a solution for the long term, from a vendor with stability and vision.”
