IT services company attributes success to cost-savings model and climate change expertise
14th January 2011 – Woking, Surrey –
SFW Ltd, the IT systems and services provider, has announced a 20% increase of full time staff over the last year. With plans to continue hiring, SFW attributes its growth to a lean cost structure and to the organisation’s expertise in climate change services. These factors have made the mid-sized company an attractive technology partner for government bodies such as the Environment Agency.
The new hires have skill levels ranging from recent graduates through to technology developers and project managers. SFW’s memberships in various technology services consortia for government frameworks for Buying Solutions Frameworks*, mean that its team of over 50 developers is working across government, as well as private sector, projects, including a number of initiatives for SFW’s climate change services division.
Examples of projects include the development of IT systems for emissions monitoring, permitting, reporting and benchmarking for the
Environment Agency; software development and support for emissions trading registries, such as
GRETA and general IT and information management efficiency for private sector companies including Carphone Warehouse and PepsiCo.
“SFW’s growth is a testament to its dedication to achieving the best results for its clients at a cost that fits their budget constraints,” said Steve Elliott, “The team has developed an streamlined way to deliver effective and robust IT systems and services within a limited budget, without skimping on quality. Working with SFW often results in cost savings for clients – an ideal formula for difficult economic times.”
SFW’s growth plans are set to continue for 2011 and include a structured development plan for existing employees within the organisation. Elliott continued, “We recognise that staff are vital to SFW’s success and the company is committed to developing the current team as well as hiring new talent.”
