Hamburg, 18 March 2013 – In its latest product review, the renowned American SC Magazine has rated the GPZ 5000 appliance from gateprotect with five of five possible stars. The gateprotect firewall achieved the top rating in the categories scope of functions, usability, performance, documentation and technical support.

In the review with 14 firewalls of other providers, the gateprotect solution convinced the reviewers as being the “ultimate multifunctional security product”. Their bottom line: “The eGUI technology renders the creation of rules easy and granular. A product that can be adjusted to individual requirements (…) (and) offers an excellent price-performance ratio.”

The GPZ 5000, which was recently equipped with a new, even more powerful hardware, is the right choice in particular for complex company networks with the highest demands for transfer rates, flexibility and redundancy. The basic configuration of this next generation firewall equips the GPZ 5000 with 18x GbE ports, 4x SFP ports as well as 2x 10G SFP+. Thanks to the 10G ports, it is possible to connect the firewall directly to the backbone. In addition, the GPZ series III appliances can be configured on a modular basis in accordance with the customer’s needs meaning that it can be configured to have 8x 10G SFP+, whilst feature highlights include Application Control, extended user authentication and the patented user interface with eGUI technology.
