Sage to help British manufacturer Anpario feed global expansion plans

Growth in Chinese market supported by Enterprise Resource Planning software through language translation and legislation modules

Newcastle, 20th January, 2014: Leading Business management solution provider, Sage, today announced that animal feed manufacturer Anpario is to implement the flagship ERP solution, Sage ERP X3, to help it on its way to being a global force in their industry.

The Nottinghamshire-based firm, which employs more than 100 people around the world, will be using the solution to support its global expansion in to the China, Brazil and USA.

Trading in more than 80 different countries through partners and subsidiary companies, the firm has to manage different legislative complexities in each territory, on top of language barriers from its multi-country operations. The company’s growth has been on the back of the booming world population, particularly in Asia and Latin America, meaning there is a greater demand in the agricultural sector for animal feed.

This has been combined with added layers of complexity in the legislation surrounding what farmers can feed their animals – for instance, antibiotics have been banned in Europe for over a decade, meaning there is a higher demand for Anpario’s natural alternatives.

Sage ERP X3 beat off competition from Microsoft Dynamics, and SAP Business 1 in a review process, with Sage’s product coming out on top in terms of functionality, ease of use and reporting speed. The firm is planning to implement the ERP solution in the UK and China during phase one, before it is to roll-out in other territories.

Marc Wilson, Group Management Accountant at Anpario, said: “As a global business, what we needed is something that crosses the language barrier – as well as to help us through the differing laws in each country.

“In order to get closer to our customers in our various markets, we are focusing on local bases with strong local knowledge. In order to do that, we needed a system that works for each of our localities that is also able to report back centrally to a group level, all under one roof.

“As an export-led company, to continue growing around the world, we need a centralised information platform to make our processes as efficient as possible.”

Florent Pannequin, Head of Sales & Operations for UK and Ireland at Sage, said: “With mid-market businesses having borne the brunt of the global downturn, we are seeing many UK based firms wanting to access new markets abroad as the British economy leads the charge in the new recovery.

“Language and legislation are two barriers which can be easily overcome with the right tools, and Anpario are going to benefit enormously from efficiencies and a single view of their data, using Sage ERP X3.”
