Aberdeen, 24 March – Petrotechnics, the global leader in transforming frontline operational performance and lowering operational risk is proud to be the sponsor of Oil & Gas UK’s Breakfast Briefing on 27 March where Sir Ian Wood will speak publically for the first time since the release of the final report “Maximising Recovery from the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS)”.

The Wood Review has called for a more collaborative approach from Government and industry to maximize production from the UKCS. The event has been a sell out for the past few days and has attracted one of the highest audiences in the series’ history.

The report also lays out plans for a new independent arms-length regulator, including suggestions for how the new regulator can help revitalize exploration, improve asset stewardship and encourage a more coherent approach to regional development. The review is essential reading for all involved in the industry and attendees at the event will benefit from a deeper exploration with Sir Ian discussing his proposals as well as the opportunities and challenges facing the new regulator.

“Sir Ian’s report has outlined a pragmatic and achievable roadmap to better prepare the UK Oil & Gas industry to meet its current and future challenges, “ said Phil Murray, CEO of Petrotechnics. “Petrotechnics welcomes the Wood Review’s commitment to improving the industry’s production efficiency and is proud to sponsor this event which provides an ideal forum for the industry to gather and hear Sir Ian discuss the review in depth and engage in debate. We have been dedicated to improving safety and increasing operational efficiency in hazardous industries since the company’s inception. We designed Proscient, our Operational Performance and Predictive Risk Software Platform, to help organizations improve how they proactively manage workload against risk to get more of the right work done safely and efficiently to improve asset integrity and keep people safe,” added Murray.

Petrotechnics is sponsoring the entire Oil & Gas UK 2014 Breakfast Briefing series as part of an ongoing initiative to work with the UK’s most prominent industry associations on industry-wide issues faced by Oil & Gas organizations.
