Aberdeen, 14 April – Petrotechnics, the global leader in transforming frontline operational performance and lowering operational risk is sponsoring the Institute of Chemical Engineers 5th Regional Process Safety Seminar in Sarawak, Malaysia on the 22nd April.

Judith Hackitt CBE, Chair of Health and Safety, United Kingdom will headline the event as the keynote speaker. The Case for Safety will be the theme of IChemE’s 5th Regional Process Safety Seminar. The event will explore what is required to enable facilities management to avoid being the next source for a major accident report. Areas of discussion include whether there is a need to adopt a Safety Case regime as practiced in the North Sea and how workforce behaviours affect the implementation of technical safeguards. An exploration of the most effective tools for implementing safety when addressing major accident hazards will round out the event.

Petrotechnics has been helping organizations in hazardous industries for more than 25 years, to transform their frontline operational performance and lower operational risk. Petrotechnics’ innovative software solutions help companies in hazardous industries simplify the complexities of frontline operations and reduce the risk of major accident hazards.

“The consequences of major accidents in hazardous industries are driving organisations and regulators to look at better ways of managing operational risk. Our sponsorship of IChemE events and initiatives is part of our ongoing commitment to helping the industry through leading organizations such as IChemE to share ideas, best practices and explore new and innovative ways to improve asset integrity and keep people safe, “ said Scott Lehmann, VP of Product Management & Product Marketing at Petrotechnics.

“Our Proscient Operational Performance & Predictive Risk software platform provides companies the ability to significantly improve their understanding of operational risk and capabilities to proactively manage it. By providing a common and practical view of operational risk that dynamically visualizes how barrier impairments impact workload and workload impacts barriers, operators can make better decisions. They can better manage workload against risk in the dynamic real-time context of operations to improve safety and asset integrity,” added Lehmann.
