Real-time status information from the Perforce SCM system enables IT professionals to keep development moving

Wokingham, UK, October 20th, 2010 – Perforce Software is pleased to announce the availability of its P4Scout application for Android. P4Scout gives administrators of the Perforce Software Configuration Management (SCM) system real-time mobile access to server status information. In addition, project managers can see the work most recently submitted to the Perforce server. Previously available on the iPhone, this application is designed to run on an Android-based tablet or smartphone and is available for free from the Android Market.

Features of the P4Scout for Android include:

Server status: The status of each server identified is indicated by an icon next to the server name.
Server information: Click the server name to display details, including host and port, version, uptime, time remaining until licenses expire, and number of users (See Figure 1).
Review of recently submitted work: View a list of the most recent changelists (groups of files) that developers have submitted to the server.
Review of issue tracking information: View a list of the most recently updated jobs (issues or defects), as well as the complete history of work associated with that job.
